The gove ment has decided to close meat shops, slaughterhouses, racebooks, casinos, and clubs for the Vesak festival.

The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government stated that the above places will be closed for the entire Vesak week from today (27) to June 2.

Meanwhile, the ministry requests that necessary measures be taken to close slaughterhouses and meat shops across the island on May 30, 31, and June 01, to stop the sale of meat in supermarkets; and to close racebooks, casinos, and clubs.
