Special instructions from the Bangkok police to the former president



The Bangkok Post newspaper has reported citing local sources that former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has been advised not to leave the hotel where he is staying in Thailand.
 
The Bangkok Post newspaper has reported that the plane carrying Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and others was scheduled to land in Phuket, Thailand, but due to security reasons, the plane was diverted to Muang Inte ational Airport.

The Bangkok Post has reported that after Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa's arrival at the Muang Inte ational Airport, Thai security forces took him to an undisclosed hotel in Bangkok.
 
The newspaper has further stated that Thai security personnel in civilian clothes have been deployed at the hotel where Mr. Rajapaksa is staying to ensure his safety.
