SL and IMF representatives scheduled to meet in Washington

A group of Sri Lankan representatives is scheduled to go to America to discuss the proposed loan facility of the Inte ational Monetary Fund with its representatives.

Accordingly, it is stated that a group of gove ment representatives including the Gove or of the Central Bank are planning to leave for Washington on the 6th of next month.

An office-level agreement has been reached to provide an extended credit facility of US$ 2.9 billion for Sri Lanka.

And this amount is to be given to Sri Lanka in 8 installments in these 4 years.

Apart from this, the restructuring related to the payment of foreign debt, which has been temporarily suspended since April 12, will also be discussed here.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Finance has planned to present the progress of the restructuring program tomorrow.
