Sri Lanka is expected to have an influx of tourists from September

A total of 37,760 tourists arrived in the country in the month of August.

According to data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, the number of inte ational arrivals for the first eight months of 2022 has increased to 496,420.

Sri Lanka recorded only 194,495 tourist arrivals last year and 5,040 in August 2021.

The number of tourist arrivals gradually increased earlier this year, and the SLTDA recorded 106,500 arrivals in March.

However, due to the economic and political crisis, tourist arrivals reduced considerably from April.

Sri Lanka is expected to have an influx of tourists from September, especially after a large number of countries have eased the travel advisories imposed owing to political instability.
