Hand, foot and mouth disease is spreading among children again

Hand, foot and mouth disease is spreading among children again, health departments point out.

Mr. Deepal Perera, specialist at Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital, said that if children have the following symptoms with or without fever, adults should pay close attention to it.

Red sores or white watery blisters around the mouth
Red bumps or white watery blisters on the hands
Red sores or white watery blisters on the legs
Red sores or white watery blisters on elbows
Red bumps or white watery blisters on the buttocks

Since this disease spreads among children from infancy to 6, 7 years old, the health department requests the adults to keep the child at home for a few days if there are symptoms like this.
