The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that there will be rain or thundershowers at places in the evening or night in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

The announcement also states that heavy rains of more than 75mm may occur in some places.

There may be rain in the mo ing in the northe , easte , Uva and north-central provinces and in the southe coastal areas.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
