03 new locally produced medicines in the market

Health Minister Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella points out that the plan to produce 40% of the medicines needed in the country is currently being implemented and the target of 20% has been achieved by now.
Accordingly, the minister says that it will be possible to save a lot of money spent on the import of medicines through this and a high solution to the existing dollar crisis is expected.

Under this, Levothyroxin 50mcg for thyroxine deficiency, Omeprazole 20mg capsules to prevent gastric acidity and Mefenamic Acid 50mg tablets for pain relief were released in the open market.
The minister pointed out that if all the medicines needed by the country can be produced locally, it will be a great achievement and the responsibility of the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation is paramount.
