Clashes have erupted between people protesting against China's COVID-19 measures and riot police wearing hazmat suits, in Guangzhou, a city in southe China.

This is the largest protest since the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests.

Protests were also organized in Shanghai, Beijing and other major cities amid anger over the gove ment's heavy-handed response to COVID-19.
