The Department of Meteorology announces that the Southwest Monsoon will gradually establish over the island in the next few days.

Accordingly, it is stated in the announcement that rain or thundershowers may occur from time to time in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southe provinces today (04).

The department mentioned that some places in Sabaragamuwa province, Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts also received heavy rains above 75mm are possible.

The announcement also states that there will be several rainy seasons in the North-West Province.

Rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva and easte provinces during evening or night.

The Department of Meteorology announces that strong winds of 40-45kmh are also possible.

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
