A German woman has deposited security money to contest the local gove ment elections from the Matale district.

It is reported that she has obtained Sri Lankan citizenship and is eligible to contest the elections.

Accordingly, the woman is scheduled to contest the Galewala Pradeshiya Sabha as an independent candidate.

The German woman stated that she is contesting the elections with the hope of bringing change to Sri Lanka.
