In a significant move, the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK) has named its General Secretary,  Dr. P. Sathiyalingam, as the National List Member of Parliament.

This nomination follows the party's success in securing the seat based on its vote count.

Sathiyalingam, who contested from the Vanni district under the ITAK banner, is set to bring his leadership experience to the national stage.
