President Nicolás Maduro has been declared the winner of Venezuela's presidential election by the National Electoral Council (CNE), with 51.20% of the vote against his main rival Edmundo González's 44.02%, based on 80% of ballots counted.
The opposition, however, claims the results are fraudulent, asserting González won with 70% of the vote.
Inte ational skepticism and calls for transparency have arisen, with the US and Chile expressing doubts about the legitimacy of the results, while Maduro's allies praised the outcome.
