Marchand Claims 400m IM Gold for France, Peaty Falls Short in Bid for Third Consecutive 100m Breaststroke Title

World record holder Leon Marchand won the 400m individual medley gold at the Paris Olympics with a time of 4:02.95, setting a new Olympic record and marking France's first Olympic swimming gold since 2012.

Meanwhile, Italy's Nicolo Martinenghi secured the men's 100m breaststroke gold, preventing Adam Peaty from achieving his third consecutive Olympic win in the event.

In the women's 100m butterfly, Torri Huske edged out teammate Gretchen Walsh for the gold.
