The Sri Lankan Election Commission has announced the final results for the Puttalam District in the 2024 General Election. The National People’s Power (NPP) emerged as the leading party, capturing over 63% of the total votes in the district.

The NPP received 239,576 votes, securing the district win, while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second with 65,679 votes (17.30%).

Based on these results, the NPP has obtained 6 seats in Puttalam District, with the SJB winning 2 seats.

• Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB): 65,679 votes – 2 seats
• New Democratic Front (NDF): 15,741 votes 
• Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP): 14,624 votes
• United Democratic Voice (UDV): 9,490 votes
