The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there may be occasional rains in Easte and Uva provinces, Polonnaruwa and Matale districts.

The announcement also states that several rainy seasons may occur in the Northe Province and Anuradhapura district.

In Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Weste provinces and in Galle and Matara districts, scattered showers or thunderstorms may occur after 2.00 pm.

In some places in the Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces, heavy rains of about 75 mm are possible.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
