The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that occasional rain or thundershowers will occur in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

It also states that there will be several rainy seasons in the North-West Province.
 
In Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts there will be scattered rain or thundershowers during the evening or night.

In the weste slopes of the central hills, in the northe and north-central provinces and in the districts of Hambantota and Trincomalee, wind gusts of up to 50 km/h will occur at times.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
