The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has approved the United States Ceasefire Resolution Proposal that aims to end Israel’s eight-month-long attack on Gaza.
The vote on the resolution that took place on Monday (10) was 14-0, amidst Russia's abstain.
The conditions of the proposal are a 'complete ceasefire', the release of hostages held by Hamas, the retu of dead hostages' remains, and the exchange of Palestinian prisoners.
Israel’s three-man war cabinet has agreed to the proposal. Even so, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu still has not declared directly whether he supports the ceasefire Resolution.
Meanwhile, leaders of Hamas have proposed 'numerous changes' to the proposal and have stated that it still requires Israel's commitment to a permanent ceasefire.
