Chinese automaker Zeekr has introduced a groundbreaking EV battery that charges from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes at its ultra-fast charging stations.
This development outpaces the industry, including rivals Tesla and BYD. The new battery, to debut in the 2025 007 sedan, also performs well in cold weather, charging efficiently even at -10°C. Experts like Tu Le and Mark Rainford acknowledge Zeekr’s significant strides, noting the competitive EV landscape in China.
Zeekr's parent, Geely, with extensive resources and vertical integration, supports these advancements. Amid these innovations, Zeekr’s shares, trading on the NYSE since May, are currently 27% below their IPO price, partly due to US tariff hikes on Chinese-made EVs.
