A human kidney grows inside a pig's body

Scientists have managed to grow a human kidney inside a pig's body with the aim of transplanting it into humans.

It is reported that this has been done for 28 days.

It is said that this can be used to prevent the death of thousands of people.

This makes it possible to cure patients without waiting for human organ donors.

It is special that the human organ has been made to grow in the fetus of a pregnant pig.

This is because the organ is rejected by an adult pig's immune system, as previously tested.

Scientists have grown partially-formed human kidneys inside pig embryos that were implanted in surrogate sows
