The National Dengue Control Unit says that a health team, including doctors, has completed special training for dengue.
They mentioned that this training was done on the basis of the need to face an emergency situation.
In addition, the unit said that the number of doctors and nurses who have received this training is over 400.
The Infectious Diseases Unit and the Dengue Control Unit jointly carried out the work, said Dr. Lahiru Kodituvakku of National Dengue Control Unit.
Commenting on this, he mentioned that data is being reported daily on the number of suspected dengue patients in 73 hospitals across the island.
He mentioned that according to reports, relatively more dengue cases are reported in IDH Hospital (Infectious Diseases Institute), National Hospital, Kandy National Hospital, Negombo General Hospital and Gampaha Hospital.
The doctor said that the daily reports are obtained to monitor the occurrence of patients reporting beyond the capacity of the hospital.
