Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Vidura Wickremanayake says that in the near future they will work to bring a new bill on religious freedom and distortion of facts.
The minister points out that the police have jointly started a special investigation on people who make statements offensive to religions.
Mr. Wickramanayake said that the arrest of Nathasha Edirisooriya, who recently made a statement offensive to Buddhism, was done with the direct intervention of the Religious and Cultural Affairs.
