Former Provincial Councilor Sanjaya Siriwardena has been arrested.

This was after a T-56 firearm, 02 magazines, 130 rounds of ammunition, and a 12-bore firearm were found on land belonging to him in the Attanagalla area.

In addition, the police have taken steps to search for and investigate the firearms after he said that several T-56 firearms and bullets were hidden.

It is reported that further investigations are being conducted under the leadership of Assistant Superintendent of Police Rohan Olugala, Director of the Weste North Crime Division, on the instructions of Acting IGP Priyantha Weerasuriya.
