The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be occasional rains in the Northe , North-Central, Easte and Uva provinces.

The announcement also states that scattered rain or thundershowers may occur in the rest of the island after 2.00 pm.

In some places in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces, heavy rains of more than 75 mm may occur.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
