In response to the severe weather conditions brought on by heavy rains, the ongoing GCE Advanced Level examinations have been temporarily suspended for three days, announced the Commissioner General of Examinations, H.J.M.C. Amit Jayasundara.
At a special press conference held this afte oon, Jayasundara informed candidates that the examinations scheduled for tomorrow, 27 November, and the following two days, 28 and 29 November, will not take place.
'Due to the adverse weather conditions, we have decided to postpone the examinations,' Jayasundara said. 'We will reschedule these exams for 21, 22, and 23 December. Further details regarding the updated schedule will be provided in due course.'
The Commissioner also reassured candidates that the examinations would resume as originally planned starting Saturday, 30 November. 'From Saturday onwards, the exams will proceed according to the original timetable,' Jayasundara confirmed.
