President Ranil Wickremesinghe will be on an official visit to Japan from the 24th to the 27th.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan stated that a meeting will be held between Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Prime Minister of Japan.

It is said that the strengthening of relations between the two countries as well as regional and inte ational cooperation are to be discussed.

This will be the second time Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe will visit Japan after assuming the office of President.

Last September, the President attended the funeral of former Prime Minister of Japan, the late Shinzo Abe.
