The Department of Meteorology says that occasional rain or thundershowers may occur in the Weste Province and Galle and Matara districts today (21).

The department mentions that in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Easte and Uva provinces there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms during the evening or night.

In North and North Central Provinces and in Puttalam District, the winds around 40kmh are blowing from time to time.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the danger caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
