The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that there will be several periods of rain in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northe provinces and in Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts.

It also states that there will be little rain in North Central Province and Kurunegala District.
 
In Uva Province and Ampara and Batticaloa Districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or at night.

In the weste slopes of the Central Hills, in the Northe and North Central Provinces, Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, Strong winds of around 40-45kmh are possible.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
