The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be several periods of rain in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

In Uva province, Ampara and Batticaloa districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or at night.

In the weste slopes of the central hills, in the northe , north-central and north-weste provinces, in the Monaragala, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, wind gusts of up to 50 km/h are expected from time to time.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
