The Department of Meteorology announces that it will rain from time to time in Easte , Uva and North Central Provinces and in Mullaitivu, Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts today.

In other parts of the island After about 2.00 there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms and some places in Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces will receive heavy rain around 75 mm.

However, in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Galle and Matara districts, foggy conditions can be expected in some places in the mo ing, the department further states.
