According to the Department of Meteorology, there is an atmospheric condition favorable for the occurrence of thunderstorms in the evening in the Easte , Central, North-Central and Northe Provinces today (09).

It is said that rain or thundershowers will occur at places in the evening or night in Easte , Uva, Central, Northe and North-Central provinces and in Kurunegala district.

In some places above 75mm showers possible.

The department has also announced that there will be several rainy seasons in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Southe provinces and in Puttalam district.

The Department of Meteorology informs people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
