The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be several periods of rain in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

There will be mainly rainless weather in the rest of the island.
 
In the weste slopes of the central hills, in the northe and north-central provinces, in the Monaragala, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, winds of 40 km/h are expected from time to time.
