According to the weather forecast for today issued by the Department of meteorology, the prevailing showery and windy conditions are expected to continue Due to the South West Monsoon condition.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-weste , and Southe provinces.

Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Nuwara-Eliya district.

Fairly heavy showers  about 75 mm are likely at some places in Weste and North-weste provinces and Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts.

Several spells of showers are expected in Northe and North-central provinces.

Strong winds about (50-60) kmph can be expected at times over the Weste slopes of the central hills and in Northe , North-central, Weste , Southe , and North-weste provinces and the Trincomalee district.

Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph will be expected at times elsewhere on the island.
