The Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs has decided to install facial recognition cameras at all immigration and emigration counters at the Katunayake Inte ational Airport.

Minister Ananda Wijepala stated that security cameras have been installed at only 08 counters at the moment.

The minister further stated that this will enable the identification of organized criminals, warrant holders, and individuals involved in crimes when they travel abroad and when they retu from abroad.
