The opposition has requested the Speaker to summon IGP Priyantha Weerasuriya to Parliament to discuss the security of its members.

The Speaker's media unit stated that the opposition had requested this from the Speaker last Monday.

The Speaker has taken steps to forward the request to the Ministry of Public Security.
