People in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have moved to safer places



It is reported that several people have died due to the heavy rains and strong winds due to Cyclone Michaung.

The storm has now reached the southe coast of India and thousands of people living in the low-lying areas of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have been directed to safe places.

Many densely populated areas of Chennai were inundated, cars were washed away and trees were uprooted.

Chennai Airport, one of the busiest airports in India, has also been closed.

Chennai police said six people were killed.
