The Ministry of Ports and Aviation Services says that tenders have been invited for the construction of the Mannar Port.

Deputy Minister Ruwan Kodithuwakku stated that the construction of the jetty at the Mannar Port will be carried out under this.

He also stated that in parallel with this, there are plans to start the passenger ferry service between Mannar and Rameshwaram soon.

The Deputy Minister said that a Sri Lankan company has come forward for the purpose.
