The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that there will be scattered rain or thundershowers in the Easte and Uva provinces, Mulativu and Vavuniya districts during the evening or at night.

It says that heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in some places.
 
Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts will experience several rainy seasons.

The rest of the island will have mainly rainless weather conditions.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
