The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that the turbulent nature of the lower atmosphere around the island continues.

The announcement also states that rain or thundershowers will occur from time to time in many parts of the island.

Some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, South, North, North-West, North-Central and Easte provinces may receive heavy rains of more than 100mm.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
