An airstrike has been carried out on a Buddhist monastery in Myanmar.

Foreign media reported that 23 people, including 4 children, were killed in the airstrike.

The attack targeted a monastery in Lin Ta Lu village in Sagaing City, about 35 kilometers northwest of Mandalay, the country's second-largest city.

More than 150 people were staying in the monastery at the time of the airstrike, and it is reported that the death toll could rise further.
