The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be occasional rains in Easte and Uva provinces, Matale and Polonnaruwa districts.

It also states that several rainy seasons will occur in Anuradhapura and Hambantota districts in the Northe Province.

In Sabaragamuwa and Weste Provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara Districts, after 1.00 pm there will be scattered rains or thunderstorms and in some places heavy rains of about 75 mm may occur.

There may be foggy conditions in some places in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southe and Uva provinces in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
