The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement saying that a decrease in rain conditions is expected in the North-Central, Uva and Easte provinces from today.

The announcement also states that there will be some light rains in the Easte and Uva provinces.

In Weste , Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts, rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places after around 2.00 pm.

The rest of the island will have mainly rainless weather conditions.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
