The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement saying that a temporary reduction in the prevailing rain conditions is expected from today (December 20) in the coming days.

It also states that several rainy seasons will occur in North, East and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa and Matale districts.

Rain or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts after around 2.00 pm.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
