The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be several periods of rain in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

It also states that there will be rain or thundershowers at some places in the easte , Uva and northe provinces during the evening or at night.

The rest of the island will have mainly rainless weather conditions.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
