The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement saying that there is a possibility of further increase in the rainfall in the southweste part of the island on September 01, 02, and 03.

It also states that it occurs from time to time in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and North Weste provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
 
Some places in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of about 75 mm.

Easte and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa, Vavunia and Mullativu districts will experience scattered showers or thunderstorms during the evening or night.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
