It is planned to start a project to install solar panels for schools from next year.

Accordingly, steps have been taken to start a regulatory project from Minuwangoda Education Division.

This project will be started on the advice of the Minister of Urban Development and Housing Mr. Prasanna Ranatunga and with the aim of providing relief to schools' electricity bills, this project will be implemented in schools all over the island next year.

Under the pilot project, this program will be implemented first for schools in Minuwangoda Education Division with electricity bills of more than 20,000 rupees per month.
