According to the Ministry of Health, 80% of annual deaths in Sri Lanka are caused by non-communicable diseases and their complications.
This has been revealed in a survey conducted by the Ministry of Health in 2021-2022.
Meanwhile, 15% of the population under the age of 35 are suffering from diabetes and 35% are suffering from high blood pressure, according to the latest report issued by the ministry.
