A group of Indian fishermen taken into custody by the Navy



A group of Indian fishermen who were fishing illegally in Sri Lankan waters have been arrested off the coast of Delft Island today (13).

This was by the Sri Lankan Navy.

It is reported that these fishermen had arrived from the Rameshwaram Fisheries Harbour in India to fish.

These ten Indian fishermen and their vessel have been arrested on charges of fishing in violation of Sri Lankan maritime laws.

It is reported that the group and the vessel that were arrested have been taken to the Karainagar Navy Base.
