The Ministry of Agriculture says that seven thousand five hundred million rupees have been paid for paddy cultivation damaged due to the disaster.

Deputy Minister Namal Karunaratne stated that the amount has been paid for 50,000 hectares of paddy fields.

The Deputy Minister further stated that another one thousand million rupees will be paid for another 5,000 hectares of paddy fields.
