The Colombo District Court has scheduled the re-hearing of a petition seeking to suspend the activities of Sri Lanka Olympic Committee Secretary, Maxwell de Silva, for December 18.

The petition was filed by Nalin Adhikari Arachchige, former Secretary of the Sri Lanka Cycling Federation, and Upali Rajapaksa, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Handball Federation. They allege that de Silva is unfit for the position due to accusations of corruption.

During the hearing today (05), lawyers representing some respondents requested additional time to file objections. The court granted the request and instructed all parties to submit objections and written submissions before the next hearing.

The petition aims to secure an injunction to suspend Mr. de Silva's activities as Secretary of the Sri Lanka Olympic Committee.
