Former Minister Douglas Devananda, who was remanded in custody, has been ordered to be released on bail.

It is reported that the magistrate ordered his release on bail when he was produced before the Gampaha Court today (09).

The former minister was arrested and remanded in custody in connection with an investigation into the discovery of a firearm given to him by the army for his personal use in 2001 during the interrogation of organized criminal Makandure Madush in 2019.
